| In the summer of 2014 I rented a house in the country and my daughters, their families, and I spent a long weekend there. We have done it again almost every year since then, even though it has become harder to find a time when everyone is free. We all were together for Boaz’ bar mitzvah in May, and this summer everyone was even busier than usual, so I thought we might have to skip this year. But it turned out that there was one weekend that we could all manage, and everyone was eager to do it, so we made it happen. We rented a house in the same area of Pennsylvania where we have gone for the last few years, and it was delightful. Inside, we cooked, ate, puzzled, and played card games. Outside, we hiked, looked for geodes, and played Pooh sticks. We love to be together, and my heart swells in the company of my daughters and their families. |
