On the lawn

 Since 2014

Since 2014 I and my daughters and their families have assembled for a summer weekend together. Finding a time when we are all free gets harder every year, as everyone’s schedule becomes more complicated and crowded, but somehow we manage. This year the house we had rented for the last few years was not available, but we found another not far away in the beautiful hills of southern Pennsylvania. The house was built of stone in the late eighteenth century, and is next door to a working Amish farm.

We cooked and ate, of course. We also played lots of games, put together two big jigsaw puzzles, ran, biked, waded in the stream, played catch, tossed beanbags, and played foosball.

Best of all, we were together, and there is nothing better in my life than having all my family around me.
